MOTORCYCLES
A total of 94,322 Motorcycles have been sold during the current month registering a growth of 27.4% over March 2003.
In the premium segment, the Pulsar twins recorded a sale of 25,807 numbers v/s 15,867 numbers in March 2003 - a growth of 62.6%.
THREE WHEELERS
At a sale of 20,139 numbers, 24.6% higher than March 2003, three wheeler demand continues to be strong. The above numbers include 2,398 numbers of GC-1000 - the new higher pay-load goods carrier.
EXPORTS
Exports for the month was 13,625 numbers [ 9,843-2 wheelers & 3,782 -3 wheelers] as against 7,209 units in March 2003 - an increase of 89%.
BAJAJ AUTO'S 2 & 3 WHEELER SALES CROSS 1.5 MILLION NUMBERS IN FY 03-04 - AN ALL TIME HIGH.
MOTORCYCLE SALES CROSS 1 MILLION NUMBERS - YOY GROWTH OF 17.9% - HIGHER THAN INDUSTRY GROWTH RATE.

Motorcycles
A total of 10,23,650 motorcycles were sold in FY 03-04 v/s 868,138 motorcycles in FY 02-03 registering a growth of 17.9% - higher than the industry growth rate of approximately 15%.
In the premium segment, a total of 2,82,173 Pulsar's were sold during FY 03-04 v/s 183,754 in FY 02-03 - a growth of 53.6%.
54% of Bajaj's motorcycle portfolio now comprises of products in the executive and premium segment. (v/s 38% in FY 02-03)
In March 2004, the Chakan plant reached a landmark cumulative production figure of over 500,000 Pulsars within a short span 29 months.
Exports
A total of 1,56,008 numbers [ 90,210 - 2 wheelers & 65,798- 3 wheelers] were exported during the year v/s 94,241 numbers in FY 02-03 - an increase of 65.5 %.
The Company continues to be the No:1 exporter of 2 & 3 wheelers in the country. Cumulative exports in value for FY 03-04 is over Rs. 550 crores.
