MOTORCYCLES
Bajaj CT-100 launched in May 2004 has sold over 57,000 numbers in the current month. Cumulatively this product has sold over 121,000 numbers in the first 90 days of launch and has clearly established itself as a market leader in its segment. This overwhelming response to CT-100 outstripped supply and there is a back-order of 2 to 4 weeks in most cities for this product. Company is ramping up production for this model from current level to 80,000 units per month by October '04.
In the premium segment, the Pulsar twins recorded a sale of 23,930 in July 2004.
Bajaj Auto continues to outperform the market with a growth of 32% in July 04 - significantly ahead of the industry growth rate of approximately 10%.
THREE WHEELERS
Sales of 3 Wheelers during the month was 21,651 numbers - growth of 10%.
EXPORTS
Exports for the month was 15,279 numbers as against 11,322 numbers in June 2003 - an increase of 35%. |
