Although overall volumes have been at a record high in November
2004, primary sales (Bajaj to dealers) could still not match
secondary sales (dealers to customers) of approximately 200,000
2 - & 3 - wheelers.
This was particularly so in specific areas including the Bajaj
Pulsar, Bajaj 3-wheelers, and 2 - & 3 - wheeler exports
owing largely to production and/or distribution constraints.
Consequently, the waiting period for all 3 Bajaj motorcycles -
the CT100, the Discover and the Pulsar DTSi - has further
increased.
As all Bajaj Plants shall be closed for their annual plant
maintenance in the last week of December 2004, the shortages in
product availability are expected to be gradually overcome
between January and March 2005.
