Pulsar again scored the BBC World Wheels Viewers choice 2
wheeler of the year 2003.

New 110 cc CVT scooter "Bajaj Wave" with DTSi technology,
Wonder gears on Bajaj Chetak scooter and New Super 100 motorcycle -
displayed in Auto Expo 2004 - evoked encouraging response in Auto
expo.

MOTORCYCLES
Aided by growth in Executive & Premium segments - Bajaj recorded
a sale of 84,500 motorcycles in Jan '04 - 12.6 growth over
January'03.
In the premium segment the Bajaj Pulsar twins recorded 24,489 units
sale against 22,990 units sold in January 2003.
In the executive segment the Bajaj Caliber 115 and the Bajaj Wind
125 together accounted for 16,826 units (Up by 102% compared to last
January's 8,315 units).
In January '04, 49% of the motorcycle portfolio is contributed by
the Executive and Premium models (as against 41.9% last Jan).
THREE WHEELERS
At 20,150 units, up 15.6% over January '03, demand for 3 wheelers
continues to be strong. This includes 2,230 units of the Bajaj GC
1000 - Company's latest higher pay-load goods carrier, whose
production is now being increased to 2,500 units, within the over
all capacity increase to 25,000 units per annum.
EXPORTS
Exports crossed the 15,000 mark again at 15,029 units and exports
are up 49% over 10,089 units exported in Jan '03.
