Bajaj Motorcycle sales at 132,028 units in January 2005 v/s 84,500
units in January 2004 represented a 56.3% growth, far ahead of the
estimated industry growth of 24%, thus increasing market share to
29% from 23%
Furthermore, this is the 4th consecutive month that Bajaj's
motorcycle volume increase has been the highest in the industry.
This robust performance owes itself to Bajaj's simultaneous success
across its brand new product portfolio including the Bajaj CT100,
the Bajaj Discover DTS-i and the Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i.

To further enhance this rapid motorcycle market share growth Bajaj
plans to introduce two new bikes in April-June 2005, one each in the
entry and premium segments.
It is raising capacity to 200,000 motorcycles a month by July 2005
in anticipation of their success.
Bajaj hopes to end FY 2005 with a sale of close to 1.5 million
motorcycles, a growth of almost 50% in an industry that is growing
at about 20%
