1. The Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si launched on 9th September 2007 has sold almost 63,000 vehicles in the 6 weeks since, including almost 45,000 units in October 2007.

With capacity being expanded to 75,000 units/month from November 2007, it is thus poised to become India’s No. 1 premium motorcycle, an honour that for many years belonged to the Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i.
   
2. With this, approximately 65% of Bajaj motorcycle sales are in the growing and more profitable 125 – 250 cc premium motorcycle segment. In fact, Bajaj expects 100 cc motorcycles to here onwards represent less than 50% of the motorcycle industry itself.
   
3. In anticipation of this trend, and given its well positioned portfolio, Bajaj expects that its motorcycle sales will exhibit positive growth in the 2nd half of this fiscal, and that consequently Bajaj will record its highest ever motorcycle market share in these months.
   
4. 3-wheeler sales continue to be muted, reflecting the general state of the economy.
   
5. The momentum in exports continues to be strong; the Bajaj XCD 125 DTS-Si is expected to further this when it becomes available to the international markets in January 2008.
