KTM’s partnership with Bajaj Auto

The Bajaj – KTM partnership began in 2007 when Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIHBV) picked up a 14.5% stake in KTM Power Sports AG and subsequently launched the brand in India. BAIHBV gradually increased its stake to 48%. In 2021, the shareholding was simplified when BAIHBV swapped 46.5% of its holding to gain a 49.9% stake in PTW Holding AG (the KTM group’s parent company).

Today Bajaj Auto Ltd. manufactures small-displacement KTM & Husqvarna motorcycles at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra, which are exported all over the world.

Growth of KTM in India

From the first KTM DUKE in 2012, KTM India has come a long way and created the premium sports motorcycle segment in India. The brand has expanded its portfolio into ‘Supersport’ (KTM RC) and ‘Travel’ (KTM ADVENTURE) segments as well. This makes KTM the only European premium motorcycle brand with purposive products for varied customer needs.

With over 450 showrooms in nearly 350 cities and a well-diversified portfolio of purposive motorcycles, KTM has built a 'Ready to Race' community in India.
