Pune,21st December 2022: Bajaj Auto, the world’s most valuable two-wheeler and three-wheeler company, has launched the Platina 110 ABS with a segment-first Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). India has the dubious record for the highest number of road fatalities in the world and almost half of such accidents involve 2-wheelers. Every 2nd motorcycle sold in India is a 100 - 115 cc commuter motorcycle and hence the introduction of ABS braking in this segment is an important step in ensuring road safety for these commuter riders.
The new Platina 110, equipped with ABS enhances safety by reducing braking distance and providing better stability in any challenging braking condition. Also, the ABS in Platina ensures complete control in emergency-braking situations that may arise due to sudden appearance of stray animals, frequent potholes, slippery & uneven surfaces.
The Platina 110 ABS, like previous Platina models, comes with added benefit of ‘Comfortec’ which includes comfortable seat, longer front and rear suspensions ensuring a comfortable, jerk-free ride. The headlights with DRL provide clear visibility to the rider, further enhancing the safety factor. The new digital speedometer has ABS indicator, gear indicator and gear guidance feature.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Sarang Kanade – President, Motorcycles – Bajaj Auto said, “Our internal studies involving riding conditions shows that atleast 91% commuter motorcycle riders face at least one panic braking scenario in a month. With the new Platina 110 ABS, we want to offer riders complete control in unforeseen braking scenarios. We are confident that these riders, who face difficult riding situations, would consider Platina 110 ABS to keep themselves and their loved ones safe with the best-in-segment braking technology.”
The Platina 110 ABS, priced at 72,224 (ex-showroom Delhi), is powered by a 115.45 cc engine that delivers 8.6 PS power at 7000 rpm and torque of 9.81 Nm at 5000 RPM. Complete with dependable performance, competitive mileage, and tough build, Platina 110 ABS comes in three appealing colours – Ebony Black, Cocktail Wine Red, and Saffire Blue.
