Mumbai Witnesses Nail-Biting Races, Fierce Competition at West Zone Qualifiers of KTM CUP Season 2

  • The West Zone Qualifiers round of KTM CUP Season 2 flagged off in Mumbai on April 26th and will continue until April 28th
  • Total 240 racers participated on KTM RC 390 edition motorcycles in the West Zone qualifiers
  • East Zone qualifiers to be held in Kolkata on May 10th & 12th
  • Grand Finale to be held in Coimbatore on May 24th & 26th at the Kari Motor Speedway

Mumbai, April 28th, 2024: Following the exciting qualifying rounds in Coimbatore and Delhi, with 360+ riders participating in KTM CUP Season 2, KTM India celebrated another megasuccessful race in Mumbai. Renowned as the world's leading sports motorcycle brand, KTM concluded the KTM CUP S2 selection round, India's largest racing championship, in the city of stars, glitz, and glamour.

The West Zone qualifiers were held at Raymond Race Track, Thane, over a period of three days. A high-octane racing event, the West Zone qualifiers of KTM CUP S2 witnessed incredibly talented riders engaging in gripping and fiercely competitive, high-speed battles across the Pro, Amateur, and Women's divisions, embodying the ‘Ready to Race’ philosophy of KTM.

Around 240 racers from 80+ different cities across the West Zone participated in the action at the Raymond Race Track. The KTM CUP S2 will host its next round of races in Kolkata on May 11th and 12th for the East Zone qualifiers.

The racing stages of KTM CUP S2 include:

  • Selections: Race Academy and Selections for the Four Zones conducted in Coimbatore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
  • Qualifiers: The top 20 riders from each of the four cities will contest the qualifiers held in Coimbatore
  • Finale: The top racers from the Qualifiers will race at the Finale of KTM CUP S2 in Coimbatore

The final three winners from each category of the KTM CUP S2 will win an exclusive chance to train with KTM instructors and former Grand Prix winners at the Red Bull Ring in Salzburg, Austria. One lucky winner will also get a chance to intern with PowerDrift.

Race Director for the KTM CUP S2 is former MotoGP racer Jeremy McWilliams, who has two podiums in the 500cc class and a win in the 250cc class. Emmanuel Jebaraj, the creator of Gusto Racing, India, and a seven-time National INMRC Champion, serves as the competition's Race Expert.
